Voices and Voice Studio
Voice Studio is where your workspace chooses how its agents sound. You can listen to any voice for free, keep a shortlist in My voices for agents to pick from, and record a clone of your own voice.
Find and listen to voices#
Open Voice Studio in the sidebar.
In the voice library, choose a source and narrow the list with Language, Gender and, for some sources, Accent, or search by name, persona or accent.
Click Listen on a voice.
ResultIt loads into the player at the top and reads a sample line aloud. Use the arrows beside it to step through voices.
Save voices to My voices#
My voices is your workspace’s shortlist. Once it has any voices, an agent’s voice picker offers only those, so your team picks from voices you’ve approved.
Find a voice you like and click Save to My voices.
ResultIt shows In My voices and appears on the My voices shelf.
Give an agent a voice#
Open the agent and go to Voice & timing (Voice & language on a video agent).
Pick the Language first. Voices that can’t speak it are greyed out.
Choose a voice from Voice · from My voices, or from Pick a voice if your workspace hasn’t saved any yet.
You can also set the voice when you create the agent.
Clone a voice#
A cloned voice lets your agents speak as a real person, such as a member of your recruiting team. You record a short passage and one consent line, and Scout checks the consent line before it builds the voice. It takes about a minute.
In Voice Studio, find Your voice, on every call and click Start cloning.
- The card shows how many of your workspace’s clone slots are used.
- In the dialog, choose the kind of clone: Normal, or Low latency (faster replies, uses more minutes, and a longer passage to read).
Step 1: under Read this aloud, record yourself reading the passage in a quiet room, at your normal pace, the way you’d talk to a candidate. Listen back and re-record as often as you like, then click Next.
Step 2: under Now say the consent line, record the consent line exactly as written, in the same voice and room. Click Next.
Step 3: under Name your voice, enter a Voice name, tick the statement that you are the person in the recordings or have their permission, and click Create voice.
ResultScout checks the consent line and creates the voice. It’s saved to My voices, ready for any agent’s voice picker, and a preview plays.
If cloning doesn’t work#
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Let's record the consent line again | The consent line couldn’t be verified. Read it exactly as written, in the same voice as the passage. Only the consent line needs redoing. |
| Cloned Voice Limit Reached, or “This workspace has … cloned voices” | Your workspace has reached its limit of cloned voices. |
| Your balance doesn’t cover another voice | Your plan’s included voice clones are used, so another one is charged to your balance, and the dialog shows the price before you record. Add money in Billing, then try again. See Billing, credit and plans. |
| Voice cloning is unavailable | Cloning can’t start right now. Use Try again; if it keeps happening, contact us. |
| You don’t see Start cloning | Cloning is for admins, and it appears only when your workspace’s voice setup supports it. |
