ATS connection problems
Scout reads jobs, stages and candidates from your ATS over its connection. When something stops arriving, start with the connection’s status in Integrations › Connected tools.
The connection “Needs attention”#
Scout stops syncing a connection when the ATS keeps refusing it or can’t be reached, and marks it Needs attention. New applicants and stage changes don’t arrive, so no new calls start for those jobs. Trying to sync it shows ATS Connection Needs Attention.
| What the connection says | What to do |
|---|---|
| Access was denied | The credentials were changed, expired or revoked in the ATS, or the subscription lapsed. Click Reconnect (or Update credentials in the row’s menu) and enter fresh credentials. |
| Scout hasn’t been able to reach it for over an hour | The ATS may be down. Scout keeps trying on its own; click Try again once it’s back. |
| Scout has stopped syncing it | Click Reconnect and enter the credentials again. |
After you fix it, use Check connection now in the row’s menu to test it. New credentials must be for the same ATS account: credentials for another account show Different ATS Account.
Syncing is turned off#
A connection someone paused shows Turned off. Scout keeps everything it has synced but picks up nothing new. Click Turn on syncing on the row.
Jobs or applicants don’t appear#
- A new job isn’t listed: in Jobs, click Sync from ATS. Check the connection shows Syncing and its Last synced time.
- A job has no applicants: Scout only syncs a job’s applicants once it has a workflow. Open the job’s Job details and assign one. See Assign a workflow to jobs.
- An applicant hasn’t arrived yet: on Job details, click Sync now to fetch the job’s candidates straight away.
- The job is closed in your ATS: Scout shows Job Closed. Reopen it in the ATS, then sync jobs again.
- Zoho Recruit: Scout syncs jobs and stages only. Candidate sync isn’t available yet, so applicants don’t arrive from Zoho Recruit. See Zoho Recruit.
- A workflow shows no stages: the stages arrive with the connection’s next job sync.
Results don’t appear in your ATS#
- Write-back runs in the background after a call, so give it a little time.
- Nothing is written while the connection is turned off or needs attention.
- Each destination must be switched on for the connection: open the row’s menu and choose ATS write back.
- What can be written differs by ATS. See Write results back to your ATS.
Before you disconnect#
In the connection’s menu, choose Disconnect….
ResultScout lists the open jobs that would be deleted.
To keep everything but stop syncing, click Disable instead. To go ahead, click Disconnect anyway. Keep it closes the dialog.
Scout won’t disconnect while a call with one of the connection’s candidates is in progress (ATS Connection Has Live Calls). Wait for it to end and try again.
