Connect Greenhouse

What you’ll need#

API client ID + secret: the client ID and client secret of a Greenhouse Harvest V3 (OAuth) API credential.

Get your credentials from Greenhouse#

   In your Greenhouse admin account, open API Credentials.

   Choose Create new API credentials, then Harvest V3 (OAuth).

   Copy the client ID and the client secret.

   If you’ll write results back, give the credential the scopes for what you’ll use:

   • harvest:notes:create, always: every write-back is a note.
   • For Scout tags: harvest:candidate_tags:list, harvest:candidate_tags:create, harvest:applied_candidate_tags:list, harvest:applied_candidate_tags:create and harvest:applied_candidate_tags:destroy.
   • For the call document: harvest:attachments:create.
   • To choose who notes are posted as: harvest:users:list.

Connect in Scout#

1. 01

   Open Integrations, then click Connect beside Greenhouse.

2. 02

   Paste the client ID into Client ID and the secret into Client secret.

   Check the Label and Region.

   • Label: a name for this connection. It starts as the ATS’s own name.
   • Region: the country Scout assumes for a candidate’s phone number when the number has no country code of its own.
4. 04

   Click Connect Greenhouse.

   ResultGreenhouse appears under Your connections as Syncing, and its jobs start arriving in Jobs.

Jobs, pipeline stages, candidates and resumes. Candidates and resumes come in for the jobs you assign to a workflow. See How syncing works.

Write-back#

Screening results go back to Greenhouse as notes, once an admin turns them on in ATS write back. For Greenhouse you can also send:

• Tags: Scout’s own “Scout:” tags on the candidate. Missing Scout: tags are created.
• Document: the call summary and transcript as a text file, added as an admin-only file on the application.

Notes are posted as the credential’s integration user unless you choose a Greenhouse user to post as. See Write results back to your ATS.
