Connect Workable
Scout connects to Workable with your account’s subdomain and an API token you generate in Workable. It pulls jobs, pipeline stages, candidates and resumes, and can write screening results back as comments.
Before you start
- You’re a Scout admin.
- You can open Settings → Integrations → API in Workable.
What you’ll need#
Subdomain + API key: your Workable subdomain and an API token.
Get your credentials from Workable#
In Workable, open Settings → Integrations → API.
Generate a token and copy it.
Note your subdomain: the part before .workable.com in your account’s web address. For example, acme in acme.workable.com.
Connect in Scout#
Open Integrations, then click Connect beside Workable.
Type your subdomain into Subdomain and paste the token into API key.
Check the Label and Region.
- Label: a name for this connection. It starts as the ATS’s own name.
- Region: the country Scout assumes for a candidate’s phone number when the number has no country code of its own.
Click Connect Workable.
ResultWorkable appears under Your connections as Syncing, and its jobs start arriving in Jobs.
What syncs#
Jobs, pipeline stages, candidates and resumes. Candidates and resumes come in for the jobs you assign to a workflow. See How syncing works.
Write-back#
Screening results go back as a comment on the candidate, one per job. Workable posts every comment as one of your Workable members, so you choose that member in ATS write back before write-back can be saved. For Workable you can also send:
- Scorecard: a star rating from the Scout band, posted as the member you chose. A changed band updates it.
- Tags: Scout’s own “Scout:” tags.
- Custom fields: create them as custom attributes in Workable first. Scout never creates them.
- Document: the call summary and transcript, attached to a comment posted as the member you chose.
