What is Scout

Scout is a voice-AI screening platform for recruiters. Its AI agents phone your applicants, ask every candidate the same questions, and give you a score, the key answers, a transcript and a recording for each call. You read the results and decide who moves forward.
How the parts fit together#
Everything in Scout follows one loop. You set it up once per kind of role, and from then on candidates are called as they reach the right stage.
- 01JobsBring jobs in from your applicant tracking system (ATS), or add a job yourself and paste its description.
- 02AgentsAn agent is the AI caller: its voice, its script and the questions it asks. Start from a template, test it, then publish it.
- 03WorkflowsA workflow says which agent calls at which pipeline stage, and which number it calls from. You activate it and assign it to jobs.
- 04CallsWhen a candidate reaches a stage that has an agent, Scout calls them within your calling hours, and tries again if nobody answers.
- 05ResultsEach call comes back with a verdict, a score, the key answers, a transcript and a recording. You decide what happens next.
What Scout does#
- Screening calls. A Phone Screening agent calls each applicant, tells them it is an AI, asks the job's questions and scores the answers against what the job needs.
- Interview scheduling. An Interview Scheduling agent books interviews on your interviewers' Microsoft calendars. See Schedule interviews.
- AI video interviews. A Video Interview agent runs a recorded video conversation that the candidate joins from an emailed link. See Send an AI video interview.
- Reference checks. A Reference Check agent phones the references a candidate gave you and files what they say.
- ATS sync. Scout connects to Greenhouse, Workable, Recruitee, Breezy HR, BambooHR and Zoho Recruit. See Connect your ATS.
- Ranking for each job. Candidates who have been called get a score from 0 to 100 and a fit band, so you can see who to look at first. See How scores and fit bands work.
People decide, Scout doesn't#
Scout never rejects a candidate on its own. It scores, flags and ranks, and a person on your team makes every decision. A score is guidance built from what the candidate said on the call. Read the key answers and the transcript before you act on it.
Who Scout is for#
| You are | What you do in Scout |
|---|---|
| A workspace admin | Connect the ATS, build and publish agents, set up and activate workflows, invite the team, and manage settings and billing. |
| A member (a recruiter on the team) | Work jobs and candidates, place calls, read the results, and send interview links. |
| A candidate | Take a call or a video interview. You don't need a Scout account. See Your Scout interview. |
A workspace has exactly two roles, admin and member. See Roles and permissions.
