Roles and permissions
Every person in a Scout workspace is either an Admin or a Member. Admins set the workspace up: agents, workflows, billing, integrations, settings and the team. Members do the hiring work day to day.
Two roles#
- Admin: can do everything in the workspace, including billing, the team and workspace settings.
- Member: can see everything in the workspace’s jobs, candidates, calls and agents, and can do all the hiring work on jobs and candidates. Members can’t change how the workspace is set up.
A workspace always has at least one admin. You choose the role when you invite someone, and an admin can change it later. See Invite and manage your team.

The last admin#
Scout won’t let a workspace end up with no admin. If you are the only admin, your role and Remove controls are switched off in the Members list, with a note: “The only admin in this workspace. Promote someone else to admin before changing or removing this membership.” Make someone else an admin first.
When an action is admin-only#
Most admin-only controls simply don’t appear for members. In Account settings, the Workspace group carries an Admin badge, and members don’t see it at all: they see only their own Profile, Security, Calendar and Privacy.
If a member opens an admin-only page such as Billing from a link, Scout shows You don't have access to this: “Ask a workspace admin to grant you access, then reload the page.” Use Back to dashboard to carry on. If a member tries an admin-only change that is still on screen, Scout refuses it and nothing changes.
