Send an AI video interview
An AI video interview is a conversation the candidate takes on their own computer, when it suits them, before the link closes. You send the link from the candidate’s panel, or a workflow sends it when they reach a stage.
Before you start
- A published Video Interview agent that is switched on. See Agent types.
- An email address for the candidate.
Send the link#
Open the job in Jobs and click the candidate to open their panel.
Click Send interview link.
ResultThe Send interview link dialog opens with the candidate’s name and email.
If you have more than one video interview agent, pick one under Interviewer.
Under Link stays open for, choose how many days. Scout shows when it closes: 11:59 PM on that day, in the candidate’s time.
Leave Send a reminder on to email them 1 day before it closes, if they haven’t started.
Optionally, add A line from you. It appears in the email.
Click Preview the email to see exactly what they’ll get.
Click Send link.
ResultScout says the link was sent, and a Video interview box appears in the panel.
If Send interview link is missing, nobody has a live video interview agent yet. The dialog says so too: “No video interviewer is live yet.” If sending fails because the balance is too low, an admin can add money in Billing. See Billing, credit and plans.
Send links automatically from a workflow#
When a workflow stage uses a video interview agent, a candidate who enters that stage is emailed the link instead of being called. The same link is never sent twice for one stage. When you save such a stage, Send them a link too sends it to the people already in it.
Follow and manage the invite#
The candidate panel’s Video interview box shows where it stands: Sent, Opened, Verified, Talked and Scored, with when the link closes, the reminder, and who sent it. While the link is waiting, you can:
- Copy link to share it again.
- Resend email to email the same link again.
- Keep open 2 more days to extend it.
- Cancel invite to stop the link working. Scout asks you to confirm first.

| Dropped · can rejoin | Their connection dropped. They have 30 minutes to come back, if the agent allows a rejoin. |
| Submitted · scoring | They finished. The report arrives in a minute or two. |
| Closed · not taken | The link closed without a start. Use Send a new link. |
| Didn't want to be recorded | They declined at consent. Nothing was recorded. Talk to them about another way to interview. |

When a candidate asks to delete their recordings#
A candidate can ask, from the interview’s last page, for their recordings to be deleted. Whoever sent the link (or the workspace’s admins, for a workflow) is told in Scout and by email, and the box shows Asked to delete recordings. Your team decides.
