Get access to Scout
There are three ways into Scout: apply for the pilot, create an account from a sign-up link, or accept an invitation to a team's workspace. Which one you need depends on whether you are starting a workspace or joining one.
Which way in?#
| You want to | Do this |
|---|---|
| Start using Scout for your company | Apply for the pilot, then create your account from the link we email you. |
| Join a workspace a colleague already uses | Ask an admin to invite you, then accept the invitation. |
| Sign in to an account you already have | Go to Sign in and secure your account. |
Apply for the pilot#
Scout is invite-only while the pilot runs. Hiring teams apply, and the Scout team reviews each application. If you open the console's Register page without a sign-up link, it says Scout is invite-only right now and offers Apply for the pilot.
Open the pilot application.
Fill in the two short steps: about you, then your hiring.
Send the application.
ResultYou see a thank-you once it's received. If it's a fit, we email you a link to create your account.
Create your account#
Open the link in your acceptance email. It goes to the console's Register page with your email filled in, and says Your pilot is ready. Create your account to start it.
Choose Just me for a workspace of your own, or My team for a company workspace your colleagues can join.
- My team also asks for a Company name.
Enter your First name and Last name. Check your Work email: with a pilot link, it is fixed to the address we sent the link to. Click Next.
Choose a Password and enter it again in Confirm password.
- It must be 10 to 128 characters.
- It can't be a very common password, or your email address.
Click Create account.
ResultYou see Check your email. We've sent a verification link to your address.
You're the admin of the workspace you create.
Verify your email#
Open the verification email from Scout and click its link. The link works for 24 hours, and only the newest one works.
ResultYou see Email verified and can sign in.
Click Back to sign in and sign in with your work email and the password you chose.
If you register again with an email you never verified, Scout sends a fresh link and keeps the details you just entered. If the email already has a verified account, Scout sends you to sign in instead.
Accept an invitation to a team#
An admin invites you from Account settings › Team with Invite a member. The email's link works for 7 days.
Open the link in the invitation email.
ResultYou see Join your team on Scout.
If you're new to Scout, enter your first and last name and Choose a password. If you already have a Scout account, leave these blank.
Click Accept invitation.
ResultYou see You're in. This workspace is now the one you land in when you sign in.
Click Sign in to Scout and sign in. Accepting doesn't sign you in by itself.
Problems getting in#
- This pilot sign-up link has already been used. The account exists. Sign in instead.
- This link is incomplete. The invitation link was cut short. Ask the person who invited you to send a fresh one.
- More fixes are in Sign-in and access problems.
